Overview

We are looking for a Program Coordinator (PC) in San Francisco! The PC will work in partnership with youth (ages 12-24) to organize, empower, and mobilize youth and their communities to win real improvements for San Francisco young people.

The PC will train and support youth leaders to develop and deepen political consciousness, assess and understand issues impacting their health and wellbeing, build relationships and partnerships with other youth and community supporters, and drive countywide and local community campaigns that create long-term systems and/or policy change, building power for future victories.

The PC will implement much of this work under Community Action Model (CAM), an evidenced based model that develops youth advocates to address health equity issues, like tobacco control, through policy. The PC will develop this project in partnership with public health leaders, community partners, and youth leaders as it relates to social, economic, and health inequities within San Francisco.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience in the field of youth development, and/or a B.A.
  • Commitment to social justice, public health, and community organizing as strategies to affect change 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with youth and adults from communities of color and low-income communities
  • Experience facilitating youth-driven campaigns or projects
  • Experience supervision and/or mentorship of youth
  • Access to a personal vehicle and clean driving record, with the ability to transport youth is required

This position requires in-person work in San Francisco 4 days per week.
