About the Role

Membership and Visitor Services at The Huntington provides a significant source of unrestricted annual support that helps sustain The Huntington’s operations and day-to-day programming. The System Specialist, reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Membership & Visitor Services, performs all essential duties in maintaining and enhancing the department’s use of The Huntington’s ticketing system, Ticketure. The System Specialist is accountable for the functional integrity of the department’s admissions, membership, event, program, and donation configurations. They work in partnership with Advancement, Digital & Technology, Communications, Education & Public Programs, Botanical, Research, and Finance staff on configuration, reporting, and testing of upgrades and new features as they pertain to the system. This position serves as an expert resource, developing, in tandem with multiple stakeholders, best practices, processes, and training for Ticketure.

The Systems Specialist co-develops the Ticketure roadmap in partnership with Advancement and Digital & Technology and in consultation with department heads who leverage ticketing system data to grow audiences and income and carry out day-to-day work. 

They will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach.

Essential Duties

  • Works within Ticketure ticketing system to maintain visitor and Member records and facilitate all event sales. Monitors sales, capacity, and configuration across the system.
  • Builds and maintains events for various departments with an eye on improving user experience by identifying improvements to the presentation of options and optimizing purchase paths. Assists with the execution and analysis of new features and functions in the test environment.
  • Helps develop procedures for the consistent use of Ticketure. Ensures procedures are written, communicated to all staff affected, and stored in an accessible fashion for reference in the future.
  • Proactively works across departments to ensure regular training and use of Ticketure. Designs and updates training materials, reference guides, and job aides as needed.
  • Works with Manager to identify and prioritize reporting needs and develop custom analytics and reports using Kibana and other reporting tools. Documents business requirements and translates these to specifications and design.
  • Serves as a key member in several working groups on visitors, data, and technology at The Huntington.
  • Works with staff using MailChimp to ensure data integrity for email communications connected to Ticketure activity.

Other Duties:

  • As needed, responds to internal and external inquiries about Memberships, Admissions, Member Events, and other general information inquiries connected to Ticketure.
  • As needed, processes membership, admission, donation, and event registration transactions.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality with constituent information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements and Experience  

Knowledge, skills, and abilities: 

  • B.A. degree or demonstrated ability and 2-5 years of job experience may provide an appropriate substitute for preferred degree.
  • Outstanding computer literacy and data skills.
  • High level of self-direction, self-motivation, and the ability to set priorities.
  • Actively embraces a service-oriented attitude to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle many responsibilities in a calm and efficient manner.
  • Flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Preferred:

  • Experience at a museum, university, cultural or related organization.
  • Ticketure experience.
  • Raiser’s Edge experience.
  • Mailchimp experience.
  • Spanish or Mandarin fluency a plus.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and HTML a plus.
