Job Summary

The Chief Schools Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a pivotal role overseeing curriculum, instruction, assessment and management of schools within the organization. The position provides academic and operational leadership across schools within the charter network, ensuring the highest standards of educational excellence and compliance. This role involves developing and implementing educational programs and policies that align with the network’s mission and goals. A key responsibility is to support and evaluate school principals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. The role requires a deep commitment to academic performance and the ability to lead with a focus on both equity and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid CA Clear Administrative Credential
  • Minimum of ten years in K-12 educational leadership roles, including as a principal, principal manager, or similar, including experience managing and mentoring school leaders and administrative teams.
  • Proven track record of improving academic outcomes in a K-12 setting.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programs.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and change management in an educational environment.
  • Deep understanding of K-12 educational standards, including state and federal regulations.
  • Expertise in data-driven decision-making and performance analytics.
  • Knowledge of best practices in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and teacher evaluation.
