ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Mission: Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) provides affordable housing and services for low-income people in the Tenderloin and throughout San Francisco, to promote equitable access to opportunity and resources.
Established in 1981, TNDC has grown to employ more than 450 staff, to develop, own, manage and provide supportive services in 44 properties that offer deeply affordable housing for nearly 6,100 tenants, and to expand its work in community organizing and afterschool programming. TNDC is viewed as a trusted and well-organized community ally locally and a practice leader nationally. In San Francisco, TNDC envisions diverse communities where people with low incomes can fulfill their potential and meet their basic needs. SUMMARY
Under the indirect supervision of the Health and Wellness Program Manager, the Health and Wellness Supervisor – Senior Sites is responsible for implementing and coordinating comprehensive, structured, and on-going programming to promote health and wellness for the senior tenant populations, facilitating and encouraging healthy aging in place promoting independent living.
The Health and Wellness Supervisor-Senior Sites is responsible for supervising the day to day work of Health and Wellness Coordinators provides direct health and wellness services to tenants at one or more HUD senior sites.
The Health and Wellness Supervisor splits the time: 35% Dedicate to coordination and oversight; 65% implementing site specific health and wellness programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Implement and oversee programs for tenants for one or more TNDC HUD-sponsored senior properties promoting health and wellness for seniors aging in place
- Refer tenants in need of social services including, but not limited to, specific medical problems and mental health issues to on-site social workers
- Broker relationships with off-site service providers who can deliver health and wellness programming on-site
- Develop and maintain new resources and relationships with outside service providers
- Maintain a directory of service providers in the community for use by the team of Health and Wellness Coordinators
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Health and Wellness programming
- Provide individual and team supervision to Health and Wellness Coordinators
- Hire, orient, and onboard new staff
- Develop strong working relationships with the on-site building management staff to educate staff on issues related to aging in place and to facilitate staff encouragement of tenant participation in on-site and off-site programs
- Compile monthly statistics and distribute to key stakeholders and service providers in the community
- Manage the annual tenant satisfaction surveys evaluating the impact of our health and wellness program
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities
- Comply with all Adult Protective Services reporting requirements
- Track Health and Wellness Program budget
- Attend and participate in monthly tenant meetings
- Attend all required meetings
- Ensure all subordinates attend monthly tenant meetings at their assigned sites
- Maintain accurate and up to date records, files and statistics on tenants being served through the Health and Wellness Program
- Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual – Cantonese and English, both written and oral
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Sciences/Community Health, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field OR Bachelor’s degree with 3 years supervisory experience in related fields
- Two years of experience working with very low-income seniors in a social service setting
- Two years of experience providing support and supervision to site staff
- Demonstrated understanding of substance abuse and mental health issues and their effects on elderly and immigrant populations
