- Job Title: Mental Health Clinician
- Employment Type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

- Summary
- The Mental Health Clinician works in the Swords to Plowshares Drop-In Center providing mental health and case management services to veterans in a manner that exemplifies Swords to Plowshares philosophy, mission, and vision through direct veteran care. The Mental Health Clinician acts as a liaison between the agency and outside organizations, linking veterans with the appropriate resources to meet their medical health, mental health, and human service needs.
- Key Responsibilities
- ~Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative and the principles of Cultural Humility.
- • Ability to work with a diverse population- individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, psychosis, and other severe mental health presentations.
- • Provides individual therapy, family and couples therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
- • Conducts mental health assessments and develops treatment plan goals and objectives in collaboration with veteran.
- • Ensures quality of services and clinical documentation follow Swords to Plowshares and the various funders policies, procedures, and standards.
- • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are imperative.
- • Performs other duties as assigned
- Education-required
- • Master’s in behavioral science (social work, psychology, counseling, etc.)
- • BBS Registered or Licensed as a LMFT/AMFT, LCSW/ASW, or LPCC/APCC
- Experience
- • Working with Veterans desired but not required.
- • Completing mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans
- • Clinical documentation
- • Knowledge/Familiarity in AVATAR is a plus.
- • Working with individuals diagnosed with substance dependency, psychosis, co-occurring disorders, chronic homelessness, and severe mental health condition
- Please note you will need to provide a TB Test or Chest X-Ray with 60 Days of employment.
- Skills
- • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office- Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
- • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- • Strong organizational skills.
- • Ability to follow through with tasks in a timely manner.
- • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.

- Compensation is based on a competitive public interest salary scale. Swords to Plowshares offers a generous benefits package including the following benefits:
