Overview

OBJECTIVE: The Clinical Supervisor will have direct clinical and supervision responsibilities, as well as supervision responsibilities for interns and staff assigned within the Stars Counseling program.

SCOPE: This position is located within the Wellness Department

CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as a non-exempt, hourly position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Conducting assessments of clients, and providing individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy, as needed
    • Treatment planning
    • Proper documentation of services rendered
    • Knowledge of current legal and ethical standards pertaining to professional practice
    • Crisis intervention services
  • Supervision Responsibilities:
    • Providing individual and group supervision, as assigned. 
    • Providing availability and crisis intervention to supervisees as well as clients as needed.
    • Participating in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training interns and supervisees. 
    • Managing and monitoring clinical activities, schedules, and caseloads through connection with other agency programs and intern schedules and skills.
    • Assisting in the development of program policies and procedures to ensure agency compliance with funding sources. Interface with schools and other community liaisons.
    • Ensuring that all paperwork is complete and paperwork deadlines are met.
    • Ensuring documentation requirements are met for supervisees in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Collaborating and coordinating with other community professionals, servicing agencies, clients, and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must wholeheartedly agree with Stars’ mission, values, and service covenant.
  • Must have a valid LCSW in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Must meet all requirements for the ability to supervise associate therapists/interns set forth by the BBS (2+ years post-licensure and eligible supervisor coursework completed)
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the office and on occasion to multiple job sites throughout the day.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred. 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work at a desk in an office or home-office setting; Sit at an office desk for extended periods of time.
  • Work for extended periods of time at a computer, requiring the ability to send and receive information with necessary optical, auditory, and manual dexterity.
  • Use a keyboard and mouse to enter, retrieve or transfer words or data information and/or move from screen to screen on the computer to view information. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comprehend and speak English. 
  • Display the reading skills necessary to proofread written material.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.

HOURS & COMPENSATION: up to 5 hrs per week (flex during training), $65 per hour

WORK LOCATION: Hybrid work remotely or in the Stars Wellness Center

RELATIONSHIPS:       

  • Reports to:    Associate Director
  • Works with:   Director of Wellness, entire Stars team
