POTRERO HILL NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE

In conjunction with Experiment In Diversity (EID) Program.

The Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (PHNH) is a multi-purpose, multi-generational community center in continuous operation for over a century. Since its inception in 1907, the PHNH has responded to the ever-changing needs of the diverse population in San Francisco and maintains a special commitment to the southeast sector communities. Our mission is to serve those in need from cradle to grave, with an emphasis on youth and education. Therefore, this position supports Middle School Students on site, and provides homework assistance and tutorials.  Over the summer, this program transitions to college and career awareness, with emphasis on excursions and enrichment activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (Reports to Program Manager)

•                Facilitate College and Career curriculum

•                Monitor and assist students with academic assignments, ensuring homework is completed

•                Maintain contact and relationships with parents, teachers, counselors and support staff

•                Create & Oversee enrichment activities

•                Keep daily attendance logs and DCYF meal tally sheets

•                Observe all CDC and company covid19 policies and procedures

•                Create healthy/caring relationships with students

•                Host outreach events

•                Prepare monthly reports and other duties assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Jr College is required. Certificate in Child Care Development preferred. Seeking experienced child care providers who relate well with middle school students, youth and adults.  Candidates must possess excellent communication, organization, leadership, academic and classroom management skills. CPR and First Aid certificates are a plus.  Must be fully vaccinated, clear California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation background check, have a Child Abuse Index clearance, TB clearance, health reports, negative Covid-19 test results and the ability to pass drug screening.

 

Salary is based on a non-profit scale according to experience.
