Focusing on direct response communications and fundraising programs from $1-999, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles seeks a stellar Individual Giving Associate to join our Individual Giving team. With the aim of growing the donor base and filling the annual gift donor pipeline, you will be raising funds from a large donor base that is as passionate about reproductive health as you are.

Under the supervision of the Director, Individual Giving, the Individual Giving Associate will execute PPLA’s annual fund solicitation programs for donors up to $1,000, including the direct response, patient giving, and employee giving programs. Serve as project manager for monthly direct response mailings, create and adhere to project timelines, write communication briefs, and communicate with graphic designer and mailhouse partners to help meet ambitious fundraising goals. Collaborate and engage with supporters, staff, and volunteers, and represent the agency in the community at events as assigned.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in non-profit fundraising including a knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising development preferred – experience in direct response fundraising or membership is an advantage
  • Experience working with graphic designers, printers, and mailhouse vendors preferred
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge software or similar donor database required, including work with queries, reports, and general database entry preferred
  • Experience with digital email communications platforms such as EveryAction preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County as needed

About the position:

  • Under the guidance of the Director, Individual Giving, execute print and digital solicitation communications for new and renewing donors at the $1-999 level
  • Project manage all direct response and planned giving solicitation appeals, including coordination of internal approvals process. Coordinate with Operations Team to create and upload mailing lists. Work with communications consultants and graphic designer/printer/mailhouse to ensure informative and thoughtful mailings meet all deadlines
  • Track project budgets and report on appeal performance
  • Oversee digital communications in EveryAction online communications platform, including sending of twice annual solicitation email blast appeal sets, e-newsletters, and coordinating with PPFA
  • Oversee and grow the Ambassadors for Choice employee giving program and Share the Care patient giving program
  • Participate in staff solicitation pitches, create collateral materials for health centers, and complete monthly reporting and recognition tasks
  • Communicate directly with donors as appropriate
  • Attend events as assigned. Some evening and weekends required
