Overview

Position

Under the supervision of the College Access Director, the College Access Coordinator (CAC) will specialize in supporting 9th-11th grade students in preparing for success in college admissions, financial readiness, and college completion. The CAC will also support the team in 12th-grade financial aid and college applications and play a key role in matriculation outcomes.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Program planning and implementation: Utilize existing curriculum and resources to implement advisory sessions and events with the support of the College Access Director
  • Direct Practice: Teach College Access Advisory Workshops and work with students on a one-on-one basis.
  • Individual Student Planning and Monitoring: Ensure students complete College Access requirements, which include college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and attendance at weekly Advisory Workshops, college fairs, college representative visits, and college field trips/tours.
  • Management of Services and Resources + Financial Readiness Program: Manage and update scholarship database and College Access Events, as well as the coordination and implementation of the financial affordability program (which includes applications to FAFSA/CADAA).
  • Data Management: Collect, track and update databases around student progress to outcomes
  • Program Performance and Reporting: Assist the College Access Director with assessing the quality of program operations according to the College Access standards and report on progress against College Track Student Requirements.
  • Managing Resources for Undocumented Youth (DREAMers): Assist the College Access Program with gathering and tracking resources for undocumented students, including scholarships, local events/resource fairs, and legal assistance/DACA.
  • New Projects: Projects as assigned by the College Access Director.

 

Qualifications

The College Completion Coordinator must embrace the College Track vision of transforming low-income communities into places where college readiness and college graduation are the norms.

Additionally, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with under-resourced high school students of color;
  • General knowledge of California State University and University of California applications;
  • General knowledge of FAFSA/CADAA applications;
  • Prior teaching and curriculum development experience;
  • Ability to build strong rapport with high school students;
  • Superior organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Exceptional reliability and follow-through
