Summary

Head-Royce School, an independent co-educational day school in Oakland, California, is seeking a Technology Support and Operations Coordinator to join our Technology Department in supporting and managing technology integral to the daily operations of the School. It is important that candidates possess the flexibility, energy, sense of humor and commitment to teamwork that life in an independent school requires. The Technology Support and Operations Coordinator will collaborate with other technology team members and work with faculty, students, and staff to support existing technology and develop strategies for improved processes using reliable and appropriate technology solutions. The

ideal candidate is self-motivated with a growth mindset, a proven record of taking on new challenges and eager to use and grow their technology skills. This is a full-time 12 month position reporting to the Director of Technology. This is a full-time hourly position from 8:00am – 4:30pm reporting to the Director of Technology. Occasional, but minimal, evening or weekend hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-user support for software, hardware, copiers, printers, and other services.
  • Monitor help desk tickets and resolve technology issues.
  • Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and update Mac, Windows, iOS, Chrome devices and peripherals.
  • Track inventory of hardware, licenses, and other IT assets including maintaining complete, accurate and appropriate documentation.
  • Assist teachers, students, and the administrative team with daily technology use.
  • Create documentation and tutorials focused on classroom, office and school-wide technology initiatives.
  • Work with external vendors in the support of hardware, software, and other IT projects.
  • Manage student workers and student worker projects (seasonal).
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend solutions for projects requiring specialized hardware and software.
  • Support and help manage academic and administrative software products.
  • Provide A/V support for classrooms and events on campus.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise management software for iOS and Mac devices

  • Excellent interpersonal skills able to work collaboratively in a team environment and with both adults and children
  • Willingness to learn about our environment and pursue self-improvement
  • Motivation and drive to push for continuous improvement of the IT environment at the school
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively with others throughout the Head-Royce community and embrace the mission of the school
  • Dependable, completes assigned tasks, excellent follow-through.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in terms of changing demands, priorities, and ability to handle deadlines and pressure with a commitment to high standards regardless of deadlines or pressures.

 

  • Bachelors degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4 year degree.
  • Five years of experience in a technical support role supporting computer hardware and software.
  • Three years supporting Apple Macintosh computers in an educational or corporate environment.
  • Experience with Google Workspace for Education, Apple School Manager, Meraki MDM, Blackbaud K12, JAMF, and GoGuardian are a plus
  • Basic understanding of networking and network-related services.
  • Ability to climb a ladder to service classroom projectors and similar equipment.
  • Previous school experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Availability for on-call weekend support as needed.

  • Ability to provide proof of Covid Vaccination (including booster) and TB clearance
