OPPORTUNITY

Green Dot is looking for a leader with the energy and skills to drive operational sustainability by ensuring that Green Dot CA schools and its regional office operate in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. The Director of Operations will manage a team responsible for student recruitment & enrollment, contracts & procurement, food service, transportation, insurance, and other shared services and will report directly to the Chief Business Officer.

The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven, self-motivated, strategic thinker who can develop others, creatively solve problems, and who has a track record of improving processes and systems. The Director of Operations must have a high level of personal accountability, be able to work both independently and collaboratively, and be highly skilled in balancing multiple priorities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, coach, and provide strategic direction to a team of professionals including three program managers, an analyst, and a Covid-19 Support Coordinator
  • Lead the program managers to ensure that operations programs including transportation, student recruitment, student immunization record collection, student records, the school nutrition program, etc. are streamlined and compliant with local, state and federal regulations
  • Develop and implement student recruitment and enrollment strategy, develop goal setting and create tools to enhance implementation of the strategic plan
  • Working closely with Green Dot’s Marketing and Communications team, continuously improve Green Dot’s marketing efforts towards student recruitment
  • Lead strategic purchasing efforts and support the Contract & Procurement Manager in the oversight of contract management and negotiations, vendor relationships, curriculum asset management, cost-reduction initiatives, and central purchasing
  • Lead data-driven goal setting and decision-making, supporting the Operations Analyst with the collection, analysis, and presentation of relevant data and KPIs
  • Develop tools, templates, processes and procedures that improve the core operations of Green Dot Public Schools CA with the goal of ensuring that schools are both operating in an efficient and effective manner and compliant with rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with the Area Operations & Finance Managers to lead school-based Operations teams in the implementation of operations program at the school level
  • Coordinate with other Green Dot departments to improve operational practices and to support the implementation of innovative operational best practices across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (required), MBA or MPA preferred
  • You have 6+ years of experience in a fast-paced, highly analytical professional environment
  • You have 2-3 years of experience managing school operations; Charter school experience is highly preferred
  • You have 2+ years of experience managing others in a professional environment
  • You have experience designing and facilitating differentiated professional development
  • You are able to build collaborative, coordinated, and supportive relationships
  • You are able to impact and influence stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization
  • You demonstrate flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity
  • You demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
  • You are dependable, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve
  • You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
  • You will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)
