Job Opening: School Data Specialist
Reports To: Principal
Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time
Main Function:
The primary responsibility of the School Data Specialist is to build and maintain data monitoring systems that inform the work of the School Leadership Team and other staff members. The specialist is responsible for analyzing the data and bringing the data to key stakeholders for timely, appropriate, and actionable next steps.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Build and maintain data trackers for English Learners and Students with Disabilities
o Track grades, assessment data, service minutes, SEL data
o Prepare staff facing reports to review data
o Bring trends to administrative team on a monthly basis
Collaborate with SST data team and counselors to analyze (and build systems as needed) and monitor student progress towards completion of graduation requirements
o Bring this data to the administrative team and the counseling team
Build, update, and maintain the student and staff house scorecards on a weekly basis
o Collaborate with culture leadership team around data tracking projects in order to inform supports and interventions
Build the attendance tracker
o Train office staff on updates to inform attendance interventions and SART processes
Review, monitor and track weekly gradebook updates
o Connect with teachers immediately if grades are not updated each week
o Prepare reports for administration
Build systems to monitor intervention programs
o Build analysis reports of assessment data
o Bring analysis to administration
o Track software usage to identify students not meeting time requirements
o Track performance of students to inform growth celebrations and to determine students not meeting predicted progress
Serve as lead for technical issues with state-level and school-level testing (including but not limited to AP, CAASPP, ELPAC assessments)
Build a system for regular report card updates for students and families
o Collaborate with counselors and culture leadership team to develop a system of regular communication about student academic progress
Build data monitoring systems that include: attendance, grades, SEL behavior data
o Update weekly
o Monitor trends: course level, teacher level, student level, subgroup level
o Bring analysis to the administrative team on a weekly basis
Build and maintain tracking systems for school athletics program
o grades tracker for students participating in athletics to inform coaches and Athletic Director of player eligibility and academic supports
o participation tracker to monitor equitable access and participation across subgroups
Support data tracking for Inclusion Specialist Teachers

o Build and train Dean of Academic Supports on systems to monitor service minutes
Support school-based staff with data and technical support needs
o Primary lead for Google Classroom support
o Create Google Classroom classes for all courses; create and update associated Google Calendar appointments in alignment with school schedule
Develop data monitoring systems aligned with oversight goals and metrics

o LAUSD Oversight:
o WASC Accreditation
Owns project management of annual master schedule
o Works with the SST data team to facilitate creation of master schedule, including course requests and schedule building within SIS
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Advanced proficiency with office productivity software: Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel
Experience with a variety of technical platforms
Ability to learn a new platform
Experience in an educational setting preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $20 – $25 per hour, depends on experience and qualifications.
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
