Position Overview
Reporting to the Warehouse Director, the Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Manager oversees all inbound and outbound operations at warehouses operated by third-party partners, ensuring accurate tracking, stocking, and storage of all items.
This role will operate primarily out of our Los Angeles, CA HQ at 5830 West Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016 and our other facilities as needed. These include, but are not limited to, Baby2Baby locations in Van Nuys and Santa Monica, CA, as well as third-party (3PL) facilities currently in South Gate, CA and Long Island, NY. This role is onsite 5 days a week, in both office and warehouse settings. Travel may be required occasionally for out-of-state warehouse support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Coordination
- Serves as the primary point of contact for on-site teams at third-party warehouses.
- Notifies warehouse partners of incoming donations, confirms receipt, and ensures accurate inventory intake.
- Submits and manages outbound orders from 3PL facilities, communicating order priorities, answering questions, and ensuring timely processing.
Program Collaboration
- Shares inbound inventory updates with the Warehouse Director and Program Teams.
- Coordinates distribution planning for incoming goods.
- Communicates regularly with Program Teams regarding order priorities, timelines, and other logistics needs.
- Provides detailed inventory reports for internal stakeholders and cross-departmental use.
Inventory Management
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records across all third-party warehouse locations.
- Enters data and performs clerical tasks related to ordering, receiving, and storing inventory using a digital warehouse management system (WMS).
- Researches product details and inputs valuation data into the WMS.
- Coordinates with the Inventory Manager to process and track stock transfers within and between warehouse sites.
- Maintains weekly and monthly inventory reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies and assists Warehouse Management in resolving them.
- Keeps accurate daily/weekly logs of items and pallet totals received, stored, and distributed.
General Warehouse Operations
- Provides clear, concise updates—both written and verbal—to the Head of Warehouse Operations.
- Operates pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary (training or certification may be required).
- Performs additional warehouse-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of warehouse experience and at least two (2) years of logistics experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficient in computer use, including data entry and inventory/warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform high-level calculations.
- Solid understanding of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both internal teams and external partners.
- Highly organized and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Forklift operator certification is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Capable of navigating warehouse environments and retrieving items from varying heights.
Salary
This role’s salary range is between $60-$80k/yr. Actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
