Overview
KRC is a non-profit community organization empowering low-income, immigrants, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and people of color communities in Southern California. KRC’s mission is to empower, educate and advocate for low income, immigrant communities through service, education, cultural organizing, and coalition building.
The Part-time Immigration Legal Services Coordinator will coordinate and manage the Legal Service phone line, schedule appointments, and manage outreach for current services including Citizenship Naturalization, DACA, Green Card renewals, and other immigration remedies. The new staff will perform work related to immigrant rights in support of KRC’s mission.
Key duties include:
Direct Service
- Answer phone lines directed to the legal services department
- Screen callers or walk-ins for all possible immigration benefits
- Schedule appointments or make appropriate referrals
- Follow up with clients and case management
- Record keeping, reporting, and tracking
- Keep forms up-to-date and available
- Consult with Legal Services Manager on all cases requiring further attention
- Participate in department team meetings each week
Community Education & Outreach
- Stay current on latest immigration information and policy changes
- Gather relevant policy change information, and disseminate it to various communities
- Support all immigration related Workshops and Clinics
- Conduct Educational seminars in conjunction with the Legal team objectives
- Base building through KRC membership process and other outreach efforts
Supervision and Team
- The Legal Services Coordinator reports to the Legal Services Director, and is supervised by the Legal Services Manager.
Required
- Bilingual – Korean (fluent Korean) and English (basic English)
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Google suite.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
