Overview

Under the guidance of an attorney or accredited representative, performs paralegal casework to

assist with application preparation for our clients, including applications for DACA renewals, green

cards, citizenship, family petitions, U-visas, TPS, and other remedies.

➢ Perform intake for immigration services to assess immigration status and applicable legal remedies

for clients.

➢ Help clients gather supporting documents related to various immigration procedures.

➢ Maintain accurate immigration records and review all files periodically to ensure timely submission

of all applications and petitions.

➢ Assist with responding to phone calls, emails and text messages from clients and resolve common

client concerns, such as updates on their cases, position on waitlists for services, or estimated

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) case processing times.

➢ Translate documents related to immigration casework and assist clients in direct translation

support as needed.

➢ Assisting with organizing immigration events, clinics, forums, and outreach efforts for the division.

➢ Provide additional administrative support to the Director of Legal Services with other office tasks as

needed, like processing check requisitions, payment requests, and other program expenses.

➢ Provide support on grant management to attorneys through quarterly data entry and assistance

with narrative reports.

➢ Provide appropriate bilingual and bicultural supportive services; linkage to community resources,

outreach and assistance to our clients in the utilization of those resources.

➢ Assist with responding to general phone inquiries and directing incoming communications to

appropriate staff as needed.

➢ Maintain confidentiality of records and transactions between clients and agency.

➢ Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Legal Services
