Organization Overview

Based in California, Healing Dialogue and Action is an organization of people directly impacted by violence who create healing spaces for survivors, people who have experienced incarceration, and communities impacted by violence. We advance transformative justice while working towards a world free from violence. HDA accompanies and engages people impacted by violence on their unique path of healing. We co-create mindful spaces grounded in compassionate listening that celebrate the gifts of those who have lived through injustice. We realize that the majority of people who have committed violence have themselves experienced violence personally, and therefore we bring the two together through the practice of restorative justice. When ready, HDA offers a space for individuals and communities to challenge the criminal legal systems through policy change and community organizing.
