Our Mission

Together We Rise is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our vision is to improve the lives of children in foster care throughout America who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. We collaborate with community partners to bring resources to youth in foster care and use service-learning activities to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system. Our foundation has allowed us to provide thousands of foster youth across the country with new bicycles, college supplies, and sweet cases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trash bag.

The Position

The Development Manager is directly responsible for establishing and securing effective sponsorships, collaborations with corporations, foundations, community/corporate leaders, direct donations and funding for programs, special events, and ongoing Together We Rise needs. Specifically, cultivating and managing a portfolio of donors. The Development Manager is responsible for stewarding donor relationships, and mobilizing supporters in a manner that drives mission impact, increases overall revenue growth.

The Daily

  • Create and implement strategies and identify new markets to enterprise/penetrate; new donor engagement opportunities
  • Drives expansion/implementation of development initiatives, in a manner that achieves revenue growth and measurable impact strategies
  • Increase market revenue by researching and analyzing revenue growth opportunities, identifying appropriate partners and developing alliances that accelerate, in collaborations with strategic partnerships, driving impact
  • Establish effective relationships with donors via email, phone, and in-person meetings
  • Preparation of presentations and pitches for prospective donors, in conjunction with Marketing Leadership
  • Develop ongoing relationships with major donors; continue to nurture current donors
  • Build network of corporate & private funders, nationwide
  • Implement resources/tools for reporting data and donors accordingly

The Essentials

  • Belief and support of Together We Rise mission
  • Commitment to transform the experience of those in the foster care system
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in area of Development (Marketing Experience a plus)
  • Familiar with all donor relations/donor database functions
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and communication skills.
  • Customer service skills to be applied when working with donors, volunteers, vendors, etc.
  • Forward-thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Excellent time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
