POSITION: Outreach Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Project Director

TIME/STATUS: Part time, 20-25 hours per week

RATE: $20HOUR

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in Day One’s efforts by helping the team provide outreach and education services to target communities. The position requires strong interpersonal skills that help form connections and build relationships throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Day One works primarily in the cities of Pasadena, Pomona, and El Monte. 

 

EXPECTATIONS:

 

o   Educate and engage the public on programs, resources, and services available. 

o   Provide direct recruitment of participants

o   Attend community events, meetings and resource fairs

o   Provide regular updates/reports to the Program Director on event outcomes

o   Conducts community presentations and other needed outreach to reach           Spanish-speaking, low-income residents in the target area.

o   Participates in trainings and update meetings

o   Maintains documentation of program activities, and assists in tracking data related to classes and workshops.

o   Maintains inventory of education/outreach materials necessary to conduct outreach efforts

o   Attends and participates in all appropriate Day One staff meetings, work groups, etc., as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Excellent verbal communication, in English and Spanish.

2. Must be sensitive to the low-income communities

4. Intermediate knowledge and experience working with computers, including word processing and data entry programs; spreadsheet experience a plus.

5. Excellent organizational abilities.

6. Written communication skills in English adequate to draft reports, memos, business correspondence, etc., as needed or directed by Executive Director; basic written communication skills in Spanish to communicate to patients / patients’ families, as needed, to provide them with necessary information.

7. Able to effectively organize and present information in group settings, both formal and informal.

8. Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Self-starter.

 9. Valid California Driver’s License, insurance, and ability to travel as required to perform duties.
